What’s with all the vehicles at the MMCRU School parking lot as well as people going into the gym on Tuesday, Oct. 26? They were there for the 9-12 Music Concert! This was their fall concert.
Under the direction of Ms. Breanna DeVoss, the 9-12 Choir opened the program with “A Joyful Song”. Their next selection was “Edelweiss”. Facebook is the social media used by many for various reasons. The choir concluded with a selection, “The Composers are ALL on Facebook”
Denotes All State Audition Choir Students included:Isabella Ahlers, Promise Bullis, Jordyn Holsinger, Ashley Hurtado; Ethan Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Regan Konz, Alyana Murray, Brielle Myears, Rylee Neddermeyer, Caitlin Olson, and Ryan Olson.
Andrea Penning, McCartney Pierce, Emily Rains, Katelynn Reiter, Anthony (AJ) Russell, Hope Russell*, Autumn Sanow, Perla Solano, Zoey Turner, Caitlin Wetter, Jaxon Woodall, and Mykin Youde.

The 9-12 Band was next on the program. The band under the direction of Ms. Emma Davis, chose “Flying Tigers” as their first presentation. Well, it’s almost Halloween where all kinds of scary things take place. The band concluded with “Ghosts of the Taman Negara” a very fitting piece of music!
Denotes Augustana Honor Band Participant. The band members included: Flute players Ellie Hilbrands, Makenzie Meyer, Caitlin Olson, Hannah Doellinger, Allison Astidias#, Ashley Hurtado, and Caitlin Wetter.
Those playing Clarinet were: Regan Peters, Ellie Reuter#, Alyana Murray, Leandra Klinker, Michelle Schmidt, and Ellie Durkee.
Saxophone Mattie Dias#, Jaelyn Kabisch, and Elsie Hogg. Trumpet Josh Armfield, Hope Russell, and Evan Molzen. Trombone Alex Armfield and Bree Richardson. Baritone player was Brett Staab.
Percussion Eban Hicks, Jaidyn Ballard, Olivia Flewelling, Ethan Johnson, Carver Miller, and AJ Russell.
Max Stridde played Percussion/Piano. Bass Guitar player was Ryan Olson.
Upcoming Events include: 7/8 Grades Le Mars Honor choir in Le Mars on November 2 at 6:30 p.m. There is an admission charge of $2/$4.
The MMCRU Middle School Band and Choir Holiday Concert is December 6 in the Remsen Gym at 7 p.m.
The MMCRU High School Holiday Concert is December 16 at 7 p.m. in the Marcus Gym.
