State Savings Bank, Cherokee, Iowa, offers the Carroll C. Mongan Trust scholarships and low interest student loans for higher education to students who have been residents of Cherokee county for at least 10 years. The student must be a member of the graduating senior class or be enrolled in an undergraduate course of study at least half-time with at least one year remaining who has not previously received an award from this trust. There will be four (4) $1,000.00 scholarships and three (3) $8,000.00 student loans awarded for the 2021-2022 school year. Applications may be picked up at your school counselor’s office or at State Savings Bank, 200 S 2nd St, Cherokee, Iowa.
