Monday evening the High School Choir presented their Pops Concert in Remsen. The following night (Tuesday) we were the audience to a Band Pops Concert with 5th graders through High School playing in the band and directed by Ms. Emma Davis.
The Fifth Grade Band opened the evening’s program with “Merrily We Roll Along” Yes, they did roll along merrily! “Rain, Rain” was sung even though we don’t want the rain to go away!
You cannot enjoy life if you don’t “Love Somebody” played by them. There are people that have dreams that probably don’t have any meaning. Their last selection was “Bugler’s Dream”.
Fifth Grade Band members are (Flutes) Anna Arduini, Adelynn Ruskamp and Callie Ruden. (Clarinets) Rachel Doellinger, Gunnar Durkee, Bailey Ross, and Ashley Wetter. (Trumpets) Isaac Astidias and Macey Heubrock. (Trombones) Nolan Carver, Charles Easton, and Owen Lennon. (Percussion) Ayden Miller, Cody Schmillen and Mick Schnepf.
The Sixth Grade Band took to their seats with “All Aboard!” Yes, we could actually hear a train “puffing” as it sat waiting for the conductor to say, “All Aboard”. Now the sixth grade band has no Saxophones in their group, so the next number, “Zip Drive” featured the 7/8th grade saxophones joining them in this song. They concluded with “High Hopes”, a song that most of us would like to be able to say.
Sixth Grade Band members are (Flutes) Chloe Alesch, Aleah Lux, Tapika Nothem, Hayden Oswald, Ava Prescott, and Erica Specht. (Clarinets) Maddy Anderson, Boston Colling, Olivia DeBoer, Aubrey Dirks, Ella Draper, Kaiya Freeman, Bella Loutsch, Avi Pederson, Alyvia Olson, Jacob Pick, Morgan Rupp, and Tia Tentinger.
(Trumpets) Luke Kintigh, Thomas Koontz, Jasper Lahouti, Brielle Lux, Elli Molzen, Jordyn Neddermeyer, Joshua Peterson, and Jesse Schneider. (Bass Clarinet) was played by Brea Nicks. (Trombone) Ian Dahl and Carsten Schrooten. (Baritone) Joe Mahoney, Gauge Sanow, and Rylee Smith. (Tuba) was played by Karlie Loutsch. (Percussion) Karsen Galles, Christopher Rojas and Gracie Schroeder.
The Seventh/Eighth Band was ready to give their performance. If you are familiar with the “Muppets”, then you could enjoy the selection, “The Muppet Theme”. They concluded with “Never Enough”. (Isn’t that a true saying of some people?!)
Seventh/Eighth Band members are (Flutes) Allison Astidias, Lauren Galles, Eoin Hogg, Ashley Hurtado, Lukas Peterson and Caitlin Wetter. (Clarinets) Florie Dahl, Ellie Durkee, and Deanna Partridge. (Saxophones) Brayden Dunn, Jairo Rojas, and Dylan Stevens. (Trumpets) Lana Florine, Waylen Hengtgen, Evan Molzen, John Schmillen and Hunter Staab. (Trombones) Alex Armfield, carter Astidias, Josh Doellinger, and Michael Schmillen. (Tuba) was played by Mason Carver. (Baritone) was played by Grant Prescott. (Percussion) Sophia Etter and Carver Miller.
The MMCRU High School Band concluded the evening’s performances with “The Simpsons Theme” and some selections from “Disney Film Favorites”.
High School Band members are (Flutes) Ellie Hilbrands, Makenzie Meyer, Hannah Doellinger, and Caitlin Olson. (Clarinets) Abby VanMaanen, Regan Peters, Ellie Reuter, Leandra Klinker, Michelle Schmidt, and Jordyn Holsinger. (Saxophones) Mattie Dias, Jaelyn Kabisch, and Elsie Hogg. (Trumpets) Josh Armfield, Hope Russell, and Alyanna Murray. (Baritones) Bret Staab and Mason Peters. (Tuba) was played by Tyler Frederes. Congratulations to these four Band groups. You have talent and you showed it!
