The Royals traveled to Lawton to face the Eagles of Lawton-Bronson on their softball diamond. The Royals’ 17-10 record was looking at the Eagles’12-16 record.
The game remained scoreless through three innings, until the visiting Royals crossed the plate in the 4th inning. The Royals repeated their score in the 5th inning and again in the 6th, all while holding the host Eagles scoreless. The Eagles looked their deficit in the eye and worked toward a 6th inning comeback putting 2 runs on the board. This set a 3-2 score going into the final inning for the two teams.
The seventh inning remained scoreless ending the game at 3-2 in favor of the Royals.
Senior pitcher Isabelle Richardson retired 5 batters in 6 1/3 innings on the mound. She was relieved by sophomore pitcher Chloe Alesch. Senior Breanna Staab hit 1 for 3 bringing in one run.
