Marcus City Council Special Meeting
Special Meeting of the City Council was held April 7, 2025, at 5:00 pm with Pro-Tem Mayor Conrad Ebert presiding. Council members present: Ebert, Jenness, Edwards.
Pledge of Allegiance
Motion by Jenness, seconded by Edwards to open public hearing on proposed Property Tax Levy. Ayes: Ebert, Jenness, Edwards. Nayes: none. Motion carried.
Oral comment by Francis Hinspeter asked the Council if the Max Levy would be used for the FY26 budget and would it be necessary to maintain this level of tax in future years or is this to make up for past projects. Clerk Harvey was asked to respond explaining that max levy is necessary to cover the general fund expenses due to raising cost to the City, especially the City’s Property Insurance. Clerk Harvey explained what the Property Taxes cover, noting that the Clubhouse and Trail projects were not paid for using Property Taxes. There were no written comments.
Motion by Jenness, seconded by Edwards to close public hearing at 5:07pm.
Motion by Edwards, seconded by Jenness to adjourn 5:07 am. Ayes: All Nayes: none. Motion carried.
