Culinary II Students Make Snacks on a Seven Dollar Budget
By MMCRU Haydn Aduddell
In recently passed days, the students of MMCRU High School’s Culinary II class have been working in groups to craft their very own snack foods on a measly budget of seven dollars per group. The food components already available in the kitchen were available to the partners at no charge. However, the cost of ingredients needed for projects that were not already available in the school’s student kitchen were deducted from the budget of the group in need. The message demonstrated to the pupils by this experiment was that the value of the ingredients used in a recipe can impact what is made or how it is made. Students shared a gleeful time with making their snacks and exchanging the finished products with their peers.
