The West Sioux Falcons traveled to Remsen to take on the Royals of MMCRU on the diamond. Six innings brought an 11-1 win for the home team, earning them an 8-3 season record.
Royals’ leading pitcher was senior Cody Evans. Evans pitched 2 innings. Six of the batters he faced went down swinging with no Falcon scores against him. Sophomore Eli Schlenger took over pitching duties for the remaining 4 innings. He also struck out 6 batters with only 1 run scored against him in the 5th inning.
Lucas Braun, junior, pulled off a .600 batting average with 3 hits that included 2 RBIs from his 2 singles and 1 double. Sophomore Gage Johnson posted a .500 for the game from 2 hits, both singles creating 2 RBIs.
Other players crossing the plate were sophomore Parker Glassmaker, 2 runs and hitting just 1 single; junior Michael Petersen scored 2 runs. Senior Owen Schroeder, junior Xander Tentinger, freshman Eli Harpenau and sophomore Brandon Dreckman all scored 1 each.
