Cherokee County Legacy Foundation Banquet

Cherokee County Legacy Foundation held their annual grant award banquet on Tuesday, April 9 at the Marcus Community Center. Twenty non-profit organizations received foundation grant monies for their upcoming projects for 2024. Have your eyes open for their progress in your local communities. Cherokee Youth Summer Ball Association (CYSBA) – portable pitching mounds. Silver level recipie
Quimby Fire Department – safety equipment for firemen: new flashlights, wildland gear, radio holders and straps. Silver level recipient City

Cherokee Volunteer Fire Department – fire equipment: purchase Dri-Dek Tiles, firefighting hand tools and training. Silver level recipient.
Cherokee County Fair – Operation Sound – new sound equipment, wiring, installation and training. Silver level recipient.
Cherokee County Emergency Management – build a regional training center with up-to-date audio/video equipment inside existing structure for local and state meetings/trainings. Rick Mongan, Justin Pritts and Bill Anderson (CCLF Board Member). Silver level recipient
Aurelia Historical Society – historical site updates: air conditioning upstairs at the house, lighting/electrical outlets in garage and signage. Silver level recipient
Trinity Lutheran Preschool – classroom/educational and playground improvements. Silver level recipient
Aurelia Daycare – stroller and wagons for babies/toddlers and sensory toys for older classrooms. Silver level recipient
Washta Fire Department – purchase and update new bunker and SCBA bottles. Silver level recipient
City of Cherokee – costs to construct a 4,375 sq. foot skate park adjacent to Magnetic trail. Bronze level recipient
Aurelia Fire Department – building costs of a new fire station. Gold level recipient
