“Annie’s Project” offered in Holstein this January and February
Program empowers farm women with agribusiness knowledge to make best business decisions for farm and family
Registration is now open for “Annie’s Project,” a six-session agricultural business education program that empowers farm women who want to be even more knowledgeable about their agricultural enterprises.
The program is hosted by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Farm Management Specialist Alexis Stevens and the Buena Vista, Cherokee and Ida County Extension offices. “Annie’s Project” will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Cobblestone Inn in Holstein for six consecutive Mondays beginning Jan. 8 and finishing Feb. 12.
Participants will learn effective strategies to make good decisions in the five key risk management areas – financial, human resources, legal, marketing, and production. Learning will be done in a hands-on, interactive discussion format.
“Research shows that women learn best with and from other women, and Annie’s Project takes advantage of that fact by creating a comfortable and supportive learning environment focused on the best farm business management practices,” said Stevens. “We learn a lot, we network with each other, and we have a great time with other like-minded farm and agribusiness women.”
Registration for the six sessions “Annie’s Project” is $75 and includes several educational resources.
