Cherokee County Farm Bureau Scholarships
The due dates for submission of scholarship applications sponsored by many organizations are fast approaching. Upcoming school break for the holidays may be an excellent time for high school seniors to complete these applications.
Numerous volunteers for local organizations devote many hours to fund raise and organize budgets to prioritize scholarship availability for students throughout the county. I would like to highlight the Cherokee County Farm Bureau scholarships. Cherokee County Farm Bureau is pleased once again to provide up to three $500 scholarships to eligible students. One qualifying application will be forwarded to Iowa Farm Bureau for an opportunity to be awarded the state level $2,500 scholarship which is renewable for up to a total of $10,000. Cherokee County Farm Bureau has a great history of Cherokee County seniors receiving these renewable scholarships. Farm Bureau scholarships can be used toward any accredited institution of higher education to include Technical College and Community College as well as Universities. Applications must be submitted online by midnight on January 31, 2024. For more information, please visit the Iowa Farm Bureau website www.iowafarmbureau.com or contact the Cherokee County Farm Bureau office at 209 Centennial Drive, Cherokee; the telephone number is 225-6451.
High school seniors, if you find yourself waiting for a flight, a passenger on a long road trip or just trying to fill time during school break, use your preferred means to connect to the internet and fill out some scholarship applications. It may be well worth your time. Don’t miss out on a scholarship opportunity!
Thank you, Elizabeth Johnson, Board Director
