Cherokee County, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, the 19th day of December, 2023, at 9:00 A.M. in the Board of Supervisors Room of the Cherokee County Courthouse, 520 West Main Street, on a resolution to sell the following described real estate:
Lot Six (6) of Block Fourteen (14) in the Original Town of Washta, Iowa, except a tract of land beginning at the Southeast Corner of Lot Six (6) in Block Fourteen (14) original town of Washta, Iowa, thence running due North along the East side of said lot a distance of Twenty-five (25) feet, thence due West a distance of Twenty-five (25) feet, thence due South a distance of Twenty-five (25) feet, thence due East a distance of Twenty-five (25) feet to the point of beginning.
Persons wishing to make written comments may do so by submitting them to the Cherokee County Auditor no later than 9:00 A.M. on the 18th day of December, 2023. Persons wishing to make oral comments may do so at the public hearing at the time and place referenced above.
The Board of Supervisors will also consider bids from interested parties to buy the real estate above described. Persons interested in making an offer to buy the above-described real estate may do so by submitting their bid to the Cherokee County Auditor at the Cherokee County Courthouse in a sealed envelope marked “Bid for Real Estate” no later than 8:30 A.M. on the 19th day of December, 2023. Notice is hereby given that any costs attributable to abstracting for the property shall also be attributable to prospective buyer and bids should take this into consideration. The Bids will be opened and read aloud by the Board of Supervisors in the Board of Supervisors Room at the Cherokee County Courthouse after the public hearing has been completed on the Resolution to Dispose of Property.
The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any formalities.
