United Bank of Iowa Donates to MMC Community Ministries
United Bank of Iowa recently donated $2,193 to MMC Community Ministries which serves residents in the Marcus, Meriden and Cleghorn school district. In addition to providing food, their services include a backpack program for students, school supplies, and gifts and food boxes at Christmas. This money was raised during United Bank of Iowa’s UNITED TOGETHER Makes the Difference Cause Day effort.
The goal of United Bank of Iowa’s Cause Day effort is to give employees the opportunity to make a difference and support people in need in the communities the bank serves. On the second and fourth Fridays each month, UBI employees from all 35 locations have the option to donate $5.00 to wear their UNITED TOGETHER T-shirts with jeans to work. The bank matches the employee donations up to $1,000 and the total is donated to one cause, randomly drawn from suggestions from all 35 locations.
MMC Community Ministries was the lucky recipient of United Bank of Iowa’s March 26, 2021, Cause Day donation. United Bank of Iowa employees presenting the check are Logan Patterson, Krista Dirks, Amber Gengler and Judy Means. On hand from MMC Community Ministries to accept the donation were Zac Rassel, Donna Bird, Sara Wilcox, Phyllis Rapagnani, and Larry Rapagnani.
Since September, 2020, United Bank of Iowa and their employees have donated $29,230 to thirteen causes in their market area through this Cause Day effort. For more information, go to www.unitedbk.bank
