MMCRU Building Plan Progresses
By Blaine Wicks
The recently passed MMC bond issue will allow the local school district to build a new elementary school in Marcus, significantly update the high school, and allow for a community daycare to be built. That daycare will be run by a community organization, not the school district.
The effects will be huge. For the elementary, the classrooms will be modern with increased outlets and technology, controlled heating and cooling, and an overall better educational experience for our students. For our high school, the building will be improved to better meet our students’ needs. According to high school principal Travis Sprague, “We have a great staff and amazing students, but our facilities were outdated. With these updates in the future, we can better serve our student body and our communities.”
