Linda Claire Nelson, 83, of Goodyear, AZ (formerly of Marcus, IA) passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at an area hospital. A private funeral service was held.
Linda was born on June 21, 1939, to Roy and Florence Nelson of Marcus, IA. She graduated from Marcus Community Schools and Iowa Wesleyan College of Mount Pleasant. Linda was a physical education instructor in the Germantown, WI school system for 30 years and upon retirement she moved to Goodyear, AZ. Linda was an active sports participant and enthusiast for much of her life.
Linda is survived by her long-time friend Joanne Holek of Goodyear, sister-in-law Nancy (Roger) Nelson of Marcus, a niece, Bobbie (Greg) Taylor of Marcus, nephews Brian (Paula) Nelson of Marcus, Jeff (Colleen) Nelson of Arnolds Park, John (Jeri) Nelson of Salix, Eric (Carol) Nelson of Moville, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers David and Roger, a sister-in-law, Shirlee, a nephew Sam, and a great niece Charlie Ann Nelson.
