Absentee Voting Begins at Cherokee County Auditor’s Office
Cherokee County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections, Kris Glienke, has announced that absentee ballots for the June 7, 2022, Primary Election will be available to be voted in the Cherokee County Auditor’s Office on Wednesday, May 18, 2022.
Absentee ballots may be cast in the Cherokee County Auditor’s Office at 520 W Main St., Cherokee, IA, during regular office hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, through June 6th.
Absentee ballots must be requested in writing. Forms are available at the Auditor’s Office and at the Iowa Secretary of State’s website at sos.iowa.gov.
All requests for ballots to be mailed must be received by the Auditor’s Office by 5 p.m. May 23rd. Ballots must be received by the Auditor’s Office by 8:00 p.m. on election day.
Please note: The Primary Election is a candidate nomination process for the Democratic and Republican parties. You must declare one of these two parties to vote in the primary election. If you are already registered to vote, you may easily change your party on the Absentee Request Form.
