Thomas F. McClintock
Thomas F. McClintock (93), Omaha, NE – Tom passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Valhaven Nursing Home in Valley, NE after a few years battle with heart issues.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus, Iowa with Father Tim Pick officiating the service. The burial will be immediately following the service. The burial will be at the Holy Name Cemetery.
Tom was born on October 9, 1928 in Marcus, Iowa to Frances and Rose Marie (Ryan) McClintock. He grew up in Marcus and attended the country school and graduated in May of 1947 from Holy Name High School. He then served with the US Army during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he took up the family business and continued his passion for farming.
He was united in marriage to LaDonna Loutsch on February 13, 1954 at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen, IA. Tom and LaDonna continued to farm until it was sold in 1994 and they moved to Omaha in 1995 to be closer to the family. While in Omaha, he worked maintenance at Eagle Run Apartments and was grounds keeper for a couple of youth softball fields.
Tom enjoyed spending time with family and watching his grandkids play sports. He enjoyed visiting with everyone especially his army buddies. Tom also liked dancing especially at the Avalon, playing cards, watching Lawrence Welk. Tom loved to eat – his favorites were ice cream, Mom’s Cherry Fluff and of course anything chocolate.
He is survived by his wife LaDonna of 68 years and their 3 children: Julie (Scott) Peck, Dennis (Kim) McClintock, Steve McClintock all of Omaha, NE, one brother Ron McClintock, one sister-in-law Joan McClintock, 4 Grandchildren: Tara and Zack Peck, Matt and Brandon McClintock. Tom also had 3 great grandchildren: Zaidan Peck, Isabel and Alexxas McClintock.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, 3 brothers: Jim, Bill and Joe McClintock, 2 sisters-in-law: Mary and Joyce McClintock and infant son Joseph Edward.
In leau of flowers, all donations will be split between the Fisher Project in Omaha and Quilts of Valor both organizations are tied to the Veterans of America which Tom was forever proud.
