Groundbreaking Ceremony Held For Construction On MMCRU Campus
The MMCRU Campus was abuzz with activity on a chilly and wet Wednesday morning as the school held the official groundbreaking ceremony for the upgrades to the campus. MMC School district voters recently approved a 20 million dollar bond to support these projects which include expansion to the high school and elementary school, improvements to the parking lot and adding a daycare center to the campus. Construction is set to begin immediately on the project by Wiltgen Brothers Construction.
Ryan Wiltgen of Wiltgen Brothers Construction speaking to the students at the ceremony said, “I am looking forward to seeing all you kids for about two years the way it looks. I always enjoy doing elementary schools because you kids will be piled along the fence watching us work, and every time your ball comes over the fence we will throw it back to you.” He continued with “I am honored to be here today with the school district representatives and am looking forward to working with them and provide you with a school you can be proud of for generations.”
Karla Prunty, MMCRU School Board president addressed the crowd next stating, ‘We have waited for so many years for this great day and its muddy and for the next umteen months its going to be muddy and dirty, and you guys get to watch all the progress, but in the end you are going to have a great school. We are proud to give that to you and your teachers, to our community thank you, this is a great day!”
