National Honor Society Inducts New Members
By Rachael Beelner
On March 17 MMCRU High School held their induction ceremony for the NHS. To get on to the NHS you have to fill out an application and the committee gets together and reviews it. The committee looks at your scholarship, service, leadership, and character. If you meet all these criteria you are able to be accepted into the national organization.
To get an application your scholarship has to be a 3.0 grade point average or higher along with encouraging others to do well in school, while having a positive attitude. Service is also involved and it gives you the desire to help others. Some of the things you can do is volunteer at places. Being on the NHS it is very important that you are a leader and this way you can show and guide others. Lastly, character has many great qualifications. Some examples are perseverance, respect, integrity, honesty, sacrifice, and the list could keep going. All these qualities demonstrate how people in the NHS conduct themselves.
