Seven suspects, six weapons, five bodies. MMCRU high school students have been gathered to perform the play Clue for community members. Based on the 1985 movie, which is based on the classic board game, Clue is a comedic farce-meets-murder mystery. The opening scene begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party. Murder and blackmail are being served. When their mysterious host is murdered, they all become suspects. Led by Wadsworth – the butler, Miss Scarlett, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard dash throughout the mansion to find the killer as the body count stacks up.
As all of the students have been working on this for the past couple months, the excitement grows. Emma Vasher, who plays Scarlet, said she is mostly “excited for the dress rehearsal and performing for family and friends.” 24 students are involved in many aspects of the performance. Keaton Weiler, Brett Stabbe, Kaden Neddermeyer, Eban Hicks, Elsie Hogg, Emma Vasher, and Hope Russell are the leads. Jaelyn Kabisch, Caedyn Henrich, Brenna Lennon, Ryan Olson, Elizabeth Pederson, Baily DeBoer, Emma Mahoney, Sophie Hohbach, and Hannah Doellinger are supporting actors. Jordyn Holsinger, Max Stubbe, Natalie Plagman, Aiyanna Murray, Josh Armfield, Allison Partridge, Andrea Penning, and Emma Reuter make up our excellent stage and tech crew.
The play is a fun, crime filled, murder mystery and will draw your attention quickly! If you’d like to see this play in action it will be held at the Sawyer Center on April 2nd at 7 pm and April 3rd 2 pm with a free-will donation. Try and figure out WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT!
