Carson Pick
This week’s Senior Spotlight Is Carson Pick. Carson is very active in sports as he’s a part of baseball, football, and track teams. He has lettered multiple years in both baseball and football, and he has received a second team all NWIA pitcher and second team all-conference his junior year of baseball. Some of Carson’s favorite memories from high school are being on homecoming court and hanging out with friends at the end of main street after baseball games. Some other memories he has is setting up a vending machine in Colin´s locker. Outside of school he likes to hang out with friends and family. When he’s not at school or hanging out with friends, he’s out working. Jobs he has had while in high school are the Marcus pool his freshman year, his sophomore and junior year he worked at the Marcus Golf Course, and his senior year he is still working at Schmillens Construction. He has also worked as a hired hand by multiple people while working with pigs and cattle.
Advice for the underclassmen that he has is “Get your homework done. As long as you do this and give a little effort on the test then you will pass your class.” His favorite school lunch is Chicken Ala King. His greatest high school accomplishment is “I have never gotten a detention.” His biggest pet peeve is “When people are on their phones during a movie or when I am on time for something but the other person is late for no reason. “
Carson has three siblings named Colin (17), Jacob (12), and Tori (5). He is the son of Shelly and Jesse Pick. His favorite songs are ¨Shake the Frost¨ by Tyler Childers, ¨Sleeping on the Blacktop¨ by Colter Wall and some Tupac songs. His favorite movie is The Other Guys. His biggest fear is heights. His favorite year of school has been his Junior year as it was the first normal-ish year after Covid-19 hit. He also turned 16 the summer going into his junior year. Next year he will be attending USD to major in either finance or accounting. He wants to be remembered by always being a hard worker and a reliable person when he graduates from high school.
