This week’s Staff Spotlight is Tyra Nance. She is a student teacher that helps teach in the English department at MMCRU. She is currently located in Sarah Bottjen’s room who teaches high school English. Ms. Nance has been with us since the beginning of the school year in August. She was born in Denver, but grew up in Omaha and went to high school at Concordia. She is currently attending USD to get her secondary degree in becoming a high school English teacher. She knew she wanted to be a teacher when she was in high school and she had a lot of good teachers that inspired her. She enjoys teaching because of seeing all the students and knowing she could have an impact on students. When asked what advice she would give to students in high school she said “you are smarter than you think” When asked what advice she wishes she got in high school she said “enjoy every moment, even the bad moments because it goes by too fast.”
