Staff Spotlight
By Baily Deboer
This week’s staff spotlight is Kristy Brandenburg. She is the MMCRU art teacher. She has two daughters and lives in Ireton. She has been part of our school for four years now. Mrs. Brandenburg went to high school in West Sioux. She went to college at USD with a minor in BFA in art education and photography. She also got an MA from SMSU in teaching, leadership learning and an MA from USD in pre K-12 administration. When I asked her what advice she gives her students she said “Remember high school is fun and can be one of the easiest/hardest parts of your life so far and don’t think you have to do the steps as fast as those around you. Plus, practice one thing you are passionate about so you have a fun hobby!” She wishes the advice she got in high school would’ve been “to try lots of things and not take what people say to heart.”
