Matthew has lettered every year for football, and has been an FFA officer. He has been very passionate about 4-H and showing livestock. In total, he has won 76 trophies for showing in 4-H. Matthew has also done well in his academics, being on High Honor Roll. Matthew says his greatest accomplishments in school were being on Honor Roll and all his trophies from showing. His favorite memories from high school was football because he enjoyed being on the team. Matthew’s favorite year has been senior year because classes have been easier and because of the football season.
Outside of school, Matthew works a few jobs. He welds and has done an internship at Northwest Iowa Community College. Matthew also helps mow the lawns of his neighbors. In his free time, he enjoys working with livestock, showing, and many things animal-related. His favorite movie is The Patriot and his favorite band is Imagine Dragons. Matthew’s biggest pet peeve is when people borrow things and don’t give it back. His biggest fear is failure. Matthew’s biggest piece of advice to underclassmen is to do your work on time and try your hardest.
