The MMCRU Dance Team competed at State Dance Competitions on December 1st in Des Moines. The team brought two routines, pom and kick, for competition. Additionally, senior co-captain, Asya Miller, brought an individual routine and competed in Solo Competitions. Overall it was a great day for the team. Results were: Asya Miller got 1st place in Division II Solos, team received 5th Place in Division III Pom, and 3rd Place in Division I Kick. Additionally, the team received a Distinguished Academic Award for having a combined team cumulative GPA above a 3.5.
Kayla Schroeder commented: I am very proud of the team’s accomplishments! They have put a lot of time and work into both routines and it’s always great to see their hard work pay off. Additionally, it is super exciting to have a member of our team not only compete and place, but place first in her division! Asya did an amazing job and the team loved being there to cheer her and celebrate with her.
Isabelle Olson (junior co-captain) commented Our dance team has been working extremely hard and we went to state and killed it. We go 5th in class three pom and 3rd in class one kick. Huge shout out to Asya Miller for getting first on her solo!
