Senior Spotlight
Emily Dreckman

By Brayden Dirks
This week for the senior spotlight we will be highlighting Emily Dreckman. Emily lives in Marcus with her parents Bruce and Danae, along with two younger brothers, Brandon and Ryan. Emily plans on attending Kirkwood Community College next year to continue her basketball career and pursue a degree in business.
Emily has been very involved throughout high school, and has excelled in many sports. She has been in basketball, volleyball, softball, track and field, student council, NHS, CYO, skills USA, and Royals Impact. In basketball, she was All-State her junior year along with All-District. She has been All-Conference in volleyball and basketball every year. Emily says her greatest accomplishment in high school was making it to state in both basketball and track. Her favorite memories were going to state for basketball, pre games in the locker room with the rest of the team, and Homecoming week with the rest of her class. Emily’s favorite year of high school has been senior year because of homecoming, the memories that have been made, and the classes she’s taking.
Outside of school, Emily likes to hang out with friends and family, golf, shop, and play cards. Her biggest fear is snakes, and favorite school lunches are crispitos and chili billie. Emily’s biggest pet peeves are when people walk slowly and when people interrupt. Her biggest piece of advice to underclassmen is to set your mind on a goal, as nothing will get in your way.
