The Royals played the Knights of Unity Christian last Thursday the 23rd in Marcus and it was a big night for Senior Taylor Harpenau. Harpenau has been setting up her teammates since she won the starting spot her Sophomore year. She was second on the team in assists as a Sophomore, totaling 254 on the season. Her Junior year she made a huge jump on the stat sheet, picking up 536 assists, and leading the team in that category. So far this year Harpenau has 224 assists through 20 games for a total of 1,014 assists.
¨Reaching 1,000 assists was one of the biggest accomplishments that I have achieved,¨ said Harpenau. ¨I definitely couldn’t have done this without my teammates. They were a big part of reaching this goal, as they not only helped me by getting kills but motivated me to keep going everyday.¨ Harpenau is ranked 39th in class 1A and 5th in the War Eagle in assists.

The Royals would lose to the Knights 3-1. This brings their record to 11-9 (3-3 Conf).
