Cherokee Regional Hospice Seeking Volunteers
Cherokee Regional Hospice is searching for compassionate, caring, reliable individuals interested in becoming hospice volunteers. To assist volunteer candidates, Cherokee Regional Hospice will hold a series of training sessions beginning on August 23rd, 2021.
The training sessions will be held at the Cherokee Regional Hospice/Home Health/Public Health Office located at 212 E Bow Drive in Cherokee. The classes will take place in four sessions. August 23rd, 30th, 26th and September 2nd from 5:30 until 8:00 PM.
Upon completion of the training, volunteers will become part of the Cherokee Regional Hospice team and be able to provide companionship, emotional support, caregiver relief, veteran support, run errands, bereavement support, assist with special projects/fundraising events, and help with office and mailing duties.
“Hospice volunteers are an essential part of the Cherokee Regional Hospice team and allow us to give the best care possible. By sharing their time, energy, and expertise, our volunteers bring compassion and caring to the lives of those in need”, explains Tonya Oolman, RN, Cherokee Regional Hospice Manager. “We consider volunteers a critical member of our team, and our community is a more compassionate place because of their service. Please consider helping make a difference in the lives of our community members who are facing a life-limiting illness.”
Anyone with a desire to make a real difference in the lives of people facing life-limiting illnesses should consider becoming a hospice volunteer. For more information or to register for the training, please contact Meagan or Lana at Cherokee Regional Hospice by calling 712.225.6459.
