John Schmillen is a senior at MMCRU High School. He is planning to attend Iowa State University where he is majoring in Agricultural Systems and Technology. Schmillen’s future plans include farming, launching his own drone spraying business, and utilizing his welding skills. Throughout his high school career, Schmillen has been involved in football, basketball, wrestling, NHS, and FFA. Schmillen shared that a person who has positively influenced his life is Tim Smith, he has enjoyed working under him as a farm hand.
Carter Astidias

Carter Astidias is a senior at MMCRU High School. After graduating, he plans on attending Iowa State where he will major in computer science. His favorite memory from high school is Halloween during his freshman year. Astidias is thankful for his friends as they have helped and supported him the most throughout high school. His favorite tradition that MMCRU does is all the activities during homecoming. A piece of advice for underclassmen from Astidias is, “stay on top of your homework and keep your grades up!”
