Marcus Fair to Celebrate 90th
The Marcus community will celebrate the 90th annual Marcus Community Fair on August 13–16, 2026. Combined with the 250th birthday of our country, the fair board is looking forward to an even bigger and better fair than ever before.
The usual popular events and attractions—such as a full carnival, livestock shows, entertainment, and outstanding food choices—will help make the Marcus Fair the biggest social event of the year in our area. A fireworks show will return to the fair schedule this year to help celebrate our country’s birthday. The “Bucket of Junk” contest will also be making a return this year; watch for details on how to participate coming soon.
One new event this year will be a ceremony to honor our veterans, likely on Thursday evening. The schedule is still a work in progress, so watch for updates.
A couple of events are coming up soon to put on your calendar. The annual Fair Appreciation Supper is scheduled for April 12 at the Community Center. This event is open to anyone who helps with the fair in any way—which is a lot of people. Details will be announced soon. It is a simple event to thank everyone involved, exchange ideas for the fair, and enjoy some social time together.
The fair board has also been hosting bingo nights at the golf course as a fundraiser and as a chance to get out of the house. The next one is scheduled for March 25, with bingo starting at 6:30 p.m.
The fair is also in the process of setting up an online store, which will make it easier to purchase commemorative Marcus Fair items. This will include our annual fair T-shirts as well as special 90th anniversary items. Watch for more details as we launch this project.
The fair board is also working to increase involvement in the fair, especially among youth. More details will be coming soon about how we plan to promote this initiative.
