The sewer pond expansion in Primghar has been frought with unwanted surprises. One that was discovered while looking for a source discharge was a line that runs about two city blocks east from Highway 59 and B40 intersection. The intersection is fondly referred to a “Cat’s Eye Corner.” The line was found to be in very poor shape with collapse considered imminent by video view. The city began the process of changing the pipe and improving the manholes at both ends. The project has halted for the season due to low temperatures. It will continue when weather allows outdoor construction.
