MMCRU Face AW Westerners at Remsen

Tough Royal defense kept the Westerners from putting up any kind of threat on the Remsen middle school hardwood Monday January 12. The Westerners came with a 2-9 record. Their first half effort posted 10 total points against the Royals’ first half effort of 28. The Westerners improved their scoring in the second half as did the Royals. The game final was 24 -50 in favor of the host Royals.
Junior Chloe Alesch was unstoppable Monday dropping in 21 points for the Royals. Junior Tia Tentinger contributed 12 points with Kaleigha Dreckman, senior added 4 points. Scoring front runners for Akron-Westfield were junior Kaberlee fairbanks, 6; junior Ainsley Naslund with 4 oints and junior Brianna Rolfes added 3.
The Royals’ Alesch took down 10 missed shots. She showed power under her own basket grabbing 7 offensive boards. She also took a steal. Senior Lana Florine pulled 8 boards down with 2 ofensive and 3 steals. Tentinger boarded 4 with 3 at under the Royals’ basket. She snitched 6 from the competitors. Naslund for AW rebounding effort was 3 and 1 with a blocked shot. Rolfes was also 3 and 1 rebounds. She booked a steal. Sophomore Brooklyn Hughes also took down 3 missed shots, 2 from the AW basket. Hughes also booked a blocked shot and 5 steals.
