Free Throws For Local Food Pantry
The Cherokee County Farm Bureau teamed up with the Iowa High School Athletic Association supporting the cause to decrease food insecurity with a successful Free Throw Challenge. For every free throw point scored by the girl’s and boys’ varsity teams at their home games throughout the 2025-2026 basketball season, the Cherokee County Farm Bureau donated on dollar to the local food pantries. We wish to thank our local varsity teams from Cherokee, Alta-Aurelia, and MMCRU for their efforts in this challenge. Our four local food pantries: Mid-Sioux, Trinity Lutheran, MMC Ministries, and the Christian Active Pantry each received a donation of $150 towards their ongoing cause to decrease food insecurity in our community from the Cherokee County Farm Bureau.
