Descendants of Andrew Magnus Swanson and Christine Jacobson Swanson met Saturday, August 16, 2025, for their annual reunion. Twenty-three family members representing Opal Swanson Ducommun, Wallace Swanson, Russell Swanson, Gladys Swanson Johnson, Melvin Swanson, Myrtle Swanson Miller and Oscar Sjostrom met at the Pizza Ranch in Marcus, Iowa. Prior to the meal, family members reviewed family history during a walk through the Amherst Cemetery in Marcus. A time of family trivia, reminiscing and updating the family tree was enjoyed by members. A prize was given to family from Lockart, Texas, for traveling the longest distance to attend the reunion. The next Swanson Reunion will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026
