Personal Mention
By Elaine Rassel
I was confronted by a nurse at Heartland Care of a mistake in Personals from February 15. I apologize remarks I made about student care givers at Heartland.
Physical therapy is coming several times a week and working on feet exercises. The other therapist works on hands. Wednesday we saw WITT students at Heartland.
I had a plant delivered that was one I hadn’t seen for years. I used to clean house for a woman that had a shelf of African Violets. These plants cannot get a drop of water on a leaf. They have to be watered carefully down. The plant that came for me was an African Violet. Thank you for this.
Gina came to trim my finger nails. I keep saying this will be the last time, but I still don’t have the strength in my left fingers to trim the right nails. I’m so thankful for her help.
Friday night Steven, Zachary and Bethany brought out fish from Panhead and JB’s to join me for supper. Everything was delicious. Thank you to the amazing food.
Thank all of you who have remembered me with cards/messages. Thanks Jean H. for the Valentine card. This is the first year in many that I hadn’t sent Valentine cards to people at Heartland.
I see there is no school on Monday in observance of President’s Day.
Ash Wednesday has been and now we start up with Lenten Soup suppers prior to the Lenten message. Faith Lutheran has 3 times to serve this Lenten season, then it doesn’t seem that Easter is right around the corner.
MMCRU Royals played against Brad Benton, who is assistant coach at IKM-Manning (Irvin-Kirkwood-Manilla and Manning). Brad has taught High School Math there for 38 years. MMCRU did win.
Remember in your thoughts and prayers those who have lost loved ones to death and have had their lives changed, have health problems some of which are terminal, are trying to make ends meet even though they have a job, and be with those who are still trying to shorten the distance between family/friends by building a bridge instead of a wall. Count your blessings. I will leave you with this quote: think before you speak; once the word was spoken—it cannot be taken back.
