The MMCRU, Remsen St. Mary’s, and Cherokee district boys bowling meet was held at Sweet 16 Lanes in Le Mars on February 14, 2023. It was a bittersweet day for the boys bowling team at districts in Le Mars. In the team tournament, the boys shot 2988, placing 3rd and falling 71 pins short of qualifying for the state tournament. After leading Denison by 155 pins with 5 games to go, Denison caught fire averaging a 243 per game score over the last 5 games.

In the individual tournament, MMCRU-RSM-Cherokee and 2 boys, MMCRU’s Carver Miller and RSM’s Colbey Penning, qualify for the state tournament that will be held in Waterloo next Wednesday February 22, 2023. Carver Miller placed 3rd in the district shooting 247, 202, 246, for a 695 overall. Colbey Penning finished right behind him in 4th with a 690 series shooting games of 236, 247, 207. Senior Bryce Staab just missed out on state finishing in 10th place with a 631 series, only being 26 pins short of the cut.
