The Marcus Police Department responded to Jeff’s Foods on December 11, 2025 to a report of a male subject that had shoplifted alcohol from the store. Ryan Shriver, 39, of Marcus was identified via the store’s security cameras. During the investigation it was also learned that Shriver had a warrant for his arrest issued out of Buena Vista County for a mirrimus to served time reference original charges of Theft 4th Degree and Attempted Burglary to a vehicle. Shriver was later located and taken into custody without incident. Shriver was transported to the Cherokee County Jail where he was charged with Theft 3rd Degree and held in lieu of $2000 on this charge. Shriver was also held on a no bond warrant and extradition to Buena Vista County.
