The Cherokee County Farm Bureau and the Plymouth County Farm Bureau attended the MMCRU Football Banquet recently to present State commemorative footballs to the State Championship team in Class A.
 The Iowa Farm Bureau is the sole title sponsor of the Iowa High School Athletic Association.  On behalf of all Iowa Farm Bureau members across the state, Mark Wilcox and Karla Prunty represented the Cherokee County Farm Bureau along with Bryan & Crystal Schroeder representing the Plymouth County Farm Bureau and Young Farmers.  The entire MMCRU football team and coaching staff were presented commemorative signature footballs from Mark Wilcox, Bryan & Crystal Schroeder.
The students and athletes are among the nation’s best and brightest, and our farmers are among the nation’s most productive—the partnership with the IHSAA honors both.  The IFBF takes great pride in helping our young people excel, while also renewing pride in the community.
In addition to providing championship memorabilia and awards to student athletes, the Iowa Farm Bureau funds scholarships and grants to outstanding young citizens engaged in student government, while also assisting the Association with its ongoing operations.  The organization also sponsors the annual Governor’s Scholar Recognition Program which recognizes more than 400 of Iowa’s best and brightest students at a ceremony held in April in Des Moines.
 The valves displayed by our local athletes are the very same Iowa farmers take to the fields every day: dedication to hard work, pride in our communities, satisfaction in a job well done, the spirit of cooperation, and character rooted in faith and family.
