The City of Marcus hereby provides public notice that the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City will hold a public hearing on a text change to the City’s Zoning Ordinance on September 30, 2025 at 4:00pm in the City Hall located at 222 N Main Street, Marcus, Iowa.
The text change to the Zoning Code makes modifications to the timing of the publication and posting of public notice for certain changes regarding the Board of Adjustment and Planning and Zoning Commission. These changes are due to a change in the Code of Iowa requirements.
Residents are encouraged to contact the City for more information and to obtain a copy of the proposed ordinance making modifications. Residents are also encouraged to attend the public hearing to make comments either in favor or against the proposed changes. Comments may also be submitted in writing prior to the hearing either sent by U.S. Mail to the City at PO Box 542, Marcus, Iowa 51035, or by email to the City Clerk, marcus@midlands.net. Residents needing special accommodation should contact the City prior to attending the meeting.
