MMCRU Allison Astidias Receives Encouragement Scholarship

MMCRU student Allison Astidias receives Encouragement Scholarship from Internationally Recognized Opera Company
On Sunday, 20 April 2025, Easter Sunday, Remsen native Allison Astidias was awarded the Bobi Jean Andros Encouragement Scholarship Award presented by The American Center for Puccini Studies and Zebra Music, LLC. This award comes with a $500.00 scholarship from the ACPS for continued involvement in the Arts. Allison is a graduating senior at MMCRU and will attend ISU in the fall. She plans to study International Relations and Music. Allison studies voice, piano, and flute and is also a fluent Spanish speaker. She received this award due to her unique talents and abilities and to her perseverance and hard work. These qualities will serve her well in her continued studies in the Arts and she looks forward to being fully engaged in the world-wide international community. The ACPS and Zebra Music, LLC are both based in Marcus. The ACPS is an internationally recognized opera company and the only professional opera company in NW Iowa. Zebra Music, LLC is the training division of the ACPS and the only professional voice studio in NW Iowa. Its graduates have gone on to academic and professional artistic success at a variety of national and international institutions. Bobi Jean Andros is an artist and philanthropist from the Washington, DC area and an ardent patron of The American Center for Puccini Studies.
