Personal Mention

I want to thank the Marcus Ambulance for taking me to Le Mars on Saturday January 13 during a blizzard. I don’t know who the three men were, but I appreciated them, as well as those who had to shovel to get to house. We have an awesome group of volunteers!
Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I continue to have another hurdle in my health.
Pastor Cummings came to Sioux City on Monday January 15. He was taking his wife to Republican Caucus-her first later on.
Thanks to Steve for going to School Board meeting.
I was watching “Little House on the Prairie.” Nellie Olson was having a birthday party. Laura Ingalls was invited. Laura handed Nellie a doll she had just finished making for a friend, but hadn’t named it yet. Nellie picked it up and threw it aside as she reached for a better doll. As Laura reached to feel this doll’s silky dress-Nellie patted it away and Laura accidentally got some of the lace. Nellie’s mother, Harriet accused Laura of doing this on purpose and suggested they go outside to play.
Olga, a girl with one leg shorter than the other, attended Nellie’s party with Nellie making fun of her. Laura noticed at one time Olga stood on a rock and had lost her footing. Mr. Ingalls made a wedge for under the short leg and Olga no longer was made fun of. Sometimes it takes an outside person to see the problems.
Please remember to keep me in your thoughts and prayers and those who have lost family/friends to death and have had their lives changed, have health problems some of which are terminal; are trying to make a living even though they have a job; help those who desire “wants” are more important than “needs”, that prestige isn’t everything and be with those who are still struggling to shorten the distance between family/friends to build a bridge instead of a wall. Count your blessings! I will leave you with this quote from Laura Ingalls Wilder, “Suffering passes, while love is eternal. That’s a gift that you have received from God. Don’t waste it.”
