This week’s staff spotlight is Travis Sprague. Travis is the principal at the Marcus district where he watches over PK-4 and 9-12th grade. Travis has been teaching for 11 years, but has been a principal for MMCRU for the last 3 years. He grew up in Osage and went to college at UNI. At UNI he went for All-Social Studies teacher and educational leadership principal. Travis knew he wanted to be a teacher because he not only wanted to impact the learning of others but teach the students to improve the citizenship of the community they lived in. Travis likes the interactions that he makes with students. If he had to give any advice to his students it would be “work hard, dream big, then achieve”. When he was in high school the advice he wishes he would’ve received is “Your struggle and how you react to them, make you who you are”.
