MMCRU Archery
By Emma Vasher
This season of archery started December 8th. The archers practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 until they’ve completed their rounds. When the archers get to practice they start at the 10 meters and shoot 5 arrows four times, one practice round and three scoring rounds. After the 10 meter they move back to the 15 meter line and repeat with the 5 arrows four rounds, one practice and three scoring. Any high school student can go out for archery. Most of the archery tournaments are held on Saturday’s throughout the day. In archery, there is an opportunity to make it to state and nationals. In order to make it to state the archer has to score a 265 or above at two different meets. A perfect score is a 300. Archers shoot in two different categories: bullseye or 3D. Bullseye is your normal target and 3D is 6 different animals you shoot at. On January 29 the archers will be in Holstein competing in a bullseye tournament.
