Senior Spotlight Tyler Rueter
By Rachael Beelner
Tyler is the son of Paul and Rose. You could say that Tyler is the nickname king at MMCRU. Tyler has been involved in football as a video photographer/broadcasting manager and earned a varsity letter helping them out. Tyler has helped the football team since his sophomore year. Trying something new, Tyler went out for FFA his junior year.
Outside of school, Tyler worked at Bomgaars in Cherokee at the end of his sophomore year. He took a part time position at Marcus Lumber Company, and he eventually became full time during Covid. He still works there and he recently landed a substitute bus driver job for Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn and South O’Brien.
In his free time, Tyler enjoys going to car shows and keeping up with NASCAR as well as doing lawn and tree work. His favorite movie is “World Trade Center.” Tyler also loves to listen to Electric Light Orchestra. His favorite song is “How Will I Know” by Whitney Houston. Tyler loved to bring lunches from home for school.
His favorite memories from high school were his junior year of prom as it was not a typical prom setting and he enjoyed the people who were a part of it. He also mentioned when he went on an Ag field trip in 10th grade that had bad weather and flooded roads, making the bus trip more interesting. Lastly he loved going to the capitol for FFA and meeting Senator Randy Feenstra. His biggest accomplishment was graduating early and holding his record of NEVER having a detention throughout high school.
Tyler’s advice for younger classmen is take all of the introduction classes right away and stand your ground; there’s no need to be afraid of the upperclassman or staff. His biggest fear is snakes and insects. Tyler’s favorite year of high school was junior year because it was the most memorable with Covid coming into play, having a new principal, having exchange students, and prom.
